"Great photography is about depth of feeling..."

...not depth of field". Peter Adams

About Us

Peter Adams had it right when he declared that “great photography is about depth of feeling, not depth of field”.  However, capturing that ellusive ‘depth of feeling’ with a camera requires not only an art to catch that fleeting smile, twinkle of an eye, or subtle tilt of the head, but also a technical expertise to record that pivotal split second of time with excellence.  So great photography is really a melding of both art and technique to create a lasting record that allows one to relive the emotion of the moment many years later.  Our goal is to provide that kind of result with every image we take.

Scott Martin has been an avid photographer since he was a young boy learning to use his Dad’s old Pentax SLR.  He purchased his first camera as a teenager and still has that same Canon AE-1 to this day, some thirty five years later.  Although Scott is an accomplished wildlife and landscape photographer, in recent years he has transitioned into wedding and portrait photography, which has been a great joy, especially because he always works along side his wife Deb who looks after the off camera lighting, posing people for photo shoots and keeping everything running smoothly during events.

It’s All About The Light

When looking for a photographer, you want to choose one who can provide consistantly great results every time.  But have you ever wondered what the difference is between a good snapshot and a great photograph?  I’m convinced that it’s all about the light and the best photographers are those who take care to control the light properly to create the results you are looking for. Perhaps the least desirable way to control the light is with a camera mounted flash, yet this is unfortunately the most common method you see at most weddings.  We take pride in using off-camera radio control flashes and strobes to create ‘studio type lighting’ on location.  Although this requires more equipment, technical expertise and a partner to control the flashes, the results are well worth the effort.  When searching out your next photographer, make sure you ask about the light……good photography is all about the light.
